RESPONSIBILITIES:
• The Merchandise Planner is accountable for plans and analysis of their respective merchandise categories, and communicating hit, misses and go forward strategies.
• Develops preseason unit/dollar level plans for sales, inventory, markdowns and margin in
partnership with the Planning Manager and buyer.
• Develops assortment plans that tie back to the monthly receipt targets.
• Partners with Planning Manager and Allocation Team to determine monthly allocation strategies.
• Initiates analysis of business trends, which could include category performance, regional, selling, size selling.
• Conducts in season reforecast of category unit plans/ dollar plans, focusing on future opportunities as well as minimizing sales/inventory risks.
• Manages the Open to Buy with the Planning Manager and Buyer.
• Communicates over/underbought situations and provide recommendations for resolution.
• Recommends possible test based on current category performance.
• Performs other job duties as needed.

JOB REQUIREMENTS :
• Merchandise planning experience (Apparel and accessories experience a plus).
• Associate or Bachelor’s Degree.
• Conceptual understanding of the Arthur Allocation system to achieve maximum results.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills; computer proficient with Microsoft applications, and Merchandise Planning systems
