DESIGNER – CUT & SEW KNITS


No Relocation Package. Local Candidates only.

Designer w/ technical skills needed to partner with Senior Management & Creative Director
To execute cut & sew knits styles from sketch through to production.
Must be strong in Cut & sew Knits area for Tops, Bottoms, Coats and dresses with strength in
Technical knowledge and fit.

Small intimate design office in which candidate must be willing to take on all tasks needed to
Make line happen.

Must have 4+ years of Fashion Design work experience in hi end women's contemporary apparel.

Must have a strong contacts with local fabric vendors , dye houses and other novelty outside services as well import vendors

Fully Responsible for design process including designing, sketching, specing, fit, work with
In house patternmakers, sewers and outside contractors. Must possess strong knowledge of Hi End Contemporary
Construction and production knowledge.

Oversee all sampling and development packages; including workflow, quality, adherence and accountability
To design standards and deadlines

Oversee all team activities, including workflow, productivity and performance. Accountable for team’s performance.

Oversee coordination of all sample materials, including fabric, trims and send outs.

Oversee preparation for meetings, presentations, including sample racks, line sheets, presentation boards, and other
Necessary presentation materials.

Responsible for the release of patterns, detail sheets, tech packs, creating and adhering to design calendar and deadlines.

Resolve any production related issues for all adopted styles.

Ensure execution and adherence to processes, deadlines and calendar

Holds self and others accountable for work commitments and outcomes.


REQUIREMENTS:

• Must have a high end Contemporary taste level with attention to detail.

• Have a great eye for fabric, details, silhouettes, prints, colors and trims.

• Able to take direction well and be flexible.

• Excellent understanding of garment construction, fit, garment dye/ washes and finishes.

• Possess knowledge and experience with domestic and import sampling and production.

• BFA in Fashion Design required.

• Minimum 4 years of Work Experience in Fashion Design for women’s contemporary apparel – cut & sew .

• Computer Literacy: Illustrator, Photoshop, Microsoft Word, Excel.

• Excellent organizational skills, ability multitask and wear many hats.

• Deadline driven and be able to work with a calendar realistically.

• Must be able to work long hours.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Positive/ hard working/ non-gossipy attitude with ability to work in a small fast paced intimate design studio atmosphere.

• Able to work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

• Excellent organizational skills.

• Work on creating prints and embellishments layouts.
